Nissan Rogue vs Honda CR-V

On the hunt for a new SUV? Chances are you’ve heard of or have even checked out the Nissan Rogue and Honda CR-V. Both of these SUVs will provide San Leandro, Oakland, and Alameda, California, drivers with comfortable and versatile experiences.

Are you curious if one of these could be the ideal vehicle for your daily commute, weekend explorations, and all your drives in between? Check out this Nissan Rogue vs. Honda CR-V comparison from our team at San Leandro Nissan.

Power & Performance

One key area where both of these SUVs will delight is under the hood. Both of them come with impressive engines that will drive the rest of your experience. While this is the case, there are some slight differences you will want to take note of.

Most notably is the size of each SUV’s engine. While the Rogue comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, the CR-V only features a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine. So, the Rogue comes out on top in terms of engine size and displacement.

Another area where you’ll see this size difference shine through is with each SUV’s torque output. Torque is what helps you accelerate and get your vehicle up to speed; here, the Rogue will again perform slightly better. The Rogue pumps out 181 lb-ft of torque, compared to only 179 lb-ft of torque for the CR-V.

Technology & Amenities

Technology & Amenities

Another area you’ll want to check out is the technology and amenities that the Rogue and CR-V present you with. In terms of connectivity, both will allow you to remain in touch with the world around you on the go via Bluetooth®. Although, the Rogue does come standard with a few more functionalities, like Android Auto™ integration.

Additionally, both offer available Apple CarPlay®. If you use an Apple mobile device, exploring having this added to your ride could prove to be a worthwhile investment.

You’ll find a slight difference when it comes to the user interface of the two vehicles’ multimedia systems. While the Rogue comes with an 8-inch display, the CR-V only comes with a 5-inch display. So, it’ll prove to be a little easier to interact with your multimedia features behind the wheel of the Nissan SUV.

Safety & Driver Assist

If you’re in the market for an SUV, chances are you will be transporting precious cargo. Whether you’re taking the kids to their soccer games or transporting that new piece of furniture, you’ll want to ensure your new SUV has the safety tech to keep you and your passengers safe.

Fortunately, both the Rogue and CR-V come with all the features necessary to do so. Outside of traditional safety features like seatbelts and airbags, you’ll also find that these SUVs are outfitted with more innovative driver-assistive features. For example, both come with:

      •    Lane Departure Warning

      •    High Beam Assist

      •    Forward Collision Warning

As you compare the two side by side, though, it’s apparent that the Rogue features quite a few additional technologies, like the Intelligent Driver Alertness system. This monitors your driving behavior, warning you if it detects you have become distracted and/or tired and need to take a break.

Additionally, the Rogue comes standard with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. This will work to keep you informed regarding your SUV’s surroundings. A similar feature is available on the CR-V, but it does not come standard.
